COVID-19-Related Workers’ Compensation (WC) Claims (UPDATE)

Written by Cast&Crew | Mar 20, 2020 9:01:23 PM

The U.S. State Department has increased the global travel advisory from level 3 out of 4 (Reconsider Travel) to level 4 out of 4 (Do Not Travel).

In our 3/11/2020 release we indicated that we cannot approve foreign travel through our Work Comp. program when the state department determines a country is level 4. Therefore, we will not be approving foreign travel WC approvals until the State Department modifies its rating position on foreign travel risk.

We are monitoring the State Department’s publication daily for updates and look forward to resuming foreign travel approvals as soon as possible.

You can read more about the State Department’s global travel advisory here.

We encourage all productions to continue to submit Hazardous Activity requests for future activities so we may help process them in the interim and expedite the production process upon resuming operations.

Cast & Crew has also added Telehealth options to support injured employees.

TELEHEALTH OPTIONS
To support injured workers at this difficult time, and to help them comply with social distancing measures in place in many jurisdictions, Cast & Crew is immediately making available Telehealth options for many workers’ compensation medical evaluations and treatments. Injured workers should inquire with their claim examiner or with a Cast & Crew Care advocate at workcomp@castandcrew.com for details.

CLAIMS
Workers' Compensation claims should continue to be reported to our Workers' Compensation team at workcomp@castandcrew.com or through our encrypted Stars Intake app (click here for instructions). We are here to help, so please reach out to our Workers' Compensation team at workcomp@castandcrew.com with any questions.

Thank you,

The Cast & Crew Risk Management Team
