Reformed Italian Tax Credit: New Cap for Co-Productions 
The Italian government has set a new €18M ($19.7M) cap on tax credits for international co-productions with at least 30% of production in Italy. Local projects will have a €9M cap to prioritize funding for Italian TV and movies.

Breaking Records: Paris Olympics’ Huge Viewership in Europe 
Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) drew 215 million viewers in Europe for its 2024 Paris Olympics coverage, a 23% increase from Tokyo 2020. The event also boosted WBD's streaming service Max in Europe, resulting in a 77% rise in new paid subscribers. 

 

International

UK Entertainment Forecast: Largest Steaming Market in Europe by 2025 
PwC's latest report projects the UK entertainment and media market will exceed £100 billion in 2024, reaching £121 billion by 2028. The streaming sector is growing with more subscriptions and a shift to ad-supported models, while cinema is recovering strongly, with box office revenues expected to surpass pre-COVID levels by 2027.

Greenlight Disability: Inevitable Foundation’s Open Letter to Hollywood 
The Inevitable Foundation has released an open letter to Hollywood, backed by notable industry figures, calling for better representation of disabled individuals in film and TV. The letter notes that 66% of audiences are dissatisfied with current portrayals and highlights the untapped profit potential in the global disability audience of over a billion people.
