Oscar nominated director Sean Baker called for a 90-day theatrical window for films, but data shows that in 2024, the average window for wide-release films has dropped to just 32 days. Even so, major hit films enjoy longer exclusive runs, and shorter windows appear to be financially successful for VOD revenue.

Super Bowl Sales: Over $800 Million in Ads 
This year, Fox and Tubi generated over $800 million in advertising sales during Super Bowl LIX, which became the most-watched Super Bowl in history, attracting 127.7 million viewers. Tubi set a new streaming record with 15.5 million viewers and Kendrick Lamar's halftime show became the most watched in history. 

 

International

Indonesian Film Growth: Discussions at the Internatioanl Film Festival Rotterdam 
The International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) showcased Indonesian cinema, highlighting the country's growing influence and the importance of addressing complex history through art. Additionally, filmmakers see the recent co-production agreement between Indonesia and the Netherlands as an opportunity to further elevate Indonesian cinema internationally.
