At the International Film Festival of India's opening ceremony, the Ministry for Information and Broadcasting announced a boosted incentive: a 40% rebate (up from 30%) on eligible spend, capped at $3.6 million. Films showcasing Indian content will receive an extra 5% bonus.

Original Content in Europe: Streamer Spend Reaches $5.4 Billion 
The European Audiovisual Observatory's report reveals that European streamers allocated nearly $5.5 billion towards original content in 2022, marking a significant 70% surge from 2021 figures and a robust recovery post-Covid-19. However, the EAO cautions that this steep upward trend might not be sustained due to ongoing business model and economic restructuring.

Changes Ahead: U.K. Film Industry Explores Concerns 
Responding to industry concerns about sustainability, the U.K. government has launched a "call for evidence" to bolster film and high-end TV tax credits, aiming to keep visual effects (VFX) business within the country. By April 2025, changes to the Audio-Visual Expenditure Credit (AVEC) are anticipated, with an additional £2.1 million pledged for the British Film Commission (BFC) and BFI Certification Unit to address resource challenges.

Thanks to Sports: NFL Views Are Key Driver for Broadcast Gains 
Last month, U.S. broadcast networks surged to 24.6% of TV viewership, their highest since January, driven notably by sports content, constituting 30% of all broadcast viewing, up from 25% in 2022. In contrast, both cable and streaming experienced declines in October.
