Local TV stations are vying to take back the 10 p.m. slot, with Hearst’s Mike Hayes saying live local news could beat network content. As networks focus on streaming, shifting late-night earlier could benefit both sides.

Australia Invests in Horror: Genre Makes Up 50% of Backed Projects   
Screen Australia has backed six feature films, including three horror projects, all slated for local and international distribution. Previously, its investment in the horror film *Talk to Me* resulted in $93 million at the global box office.

Film in Saudi Arabia: Record Number of Moviegoers   
Six years after lifting its 35-year cinema ban, Saudi Arabia has become the top movie market in the Middle East-North Africa region, surpassing some Western markets. Comscore reports strong growth, with local content thriving and more expansion ahead. 

 

**Broadway**

Theater Performance: The Shows Drawing Big Audiences   
*Romeo + Juliet* and *Sunset Boulevard** *continue to shine on Broadway, with Sunset Boulevard grossing $1.08 million in its first week at 93% capacity and Romeo + Juliet earning over $950,000 at full capacity. Other highlights include *McNeal*, nearing $970,000 and *Oh Mary!* grossing $1.18 million at 100% capacity.
