New Platform Aims To Improve Film and TV Working Conditions 
The British Screen Forum and the Film and TV Charity, alongside partners including Bectu, Pact, and ScreenSkills, have teamed up with the University of Glasgow to launch WorkTakes, a new online feedback platform designed to gather industry insights and help improve working conditions across film and television.

Cinema United’s 2025 report shows that Gen Z is leading a rebound in moviegoing, attending theaters more often than any other age group and fueling growth through demand for premium experiences, even as overall ticket sales remain below pre-pandemic levels.

Netflix Pledges To Preserve Theatrical Windows 
Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos said that if the company’s proposed $82.7 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery’s studios and streaming businesses is approved, Netflix would continue traditional theatrical release windows for Warner Bros. films.

Red Sea and Annecy Festivals Partner on Animation 
Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea International Film Festival has entered a three-year partnership with France’s Annecy International Animation Film Festival to support Saudi animation talent, expand cultural exchange, and open new industry opportunities.

American Cinematheque Honors Film Craft Excellence 
The American Cinematheque has announced the honorees for its fifth annual Tribute to the Crafts, recognizing outstanding behind the camera achievements across 13 filmmaking disciplines, with honored work including Avatar: Fire and AshFrankensteinSinners, and KPop Demon Hunters. The ceremony takes place January 16 at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.
