**‘Zootopia 2’ Smashes Records**   
Disney’s *Zootopia 2* tops 2025 domestically with $424.2 million, beating *A Minecraft Movie*, and becomes Hollywood’s highest-grossing animated film ever with $1.85 billion worldwide.

**UK Expands Streaming Rules**   
The United Kingdom is giving Ofcom new powers over major streaming services like Netflix, Prime Video, ITVX, and Channel 4. Platforms with over 500,000 UK users must meet content and accessibility standards or face fines up to £250,000 or 5% of revenue.

 

**Film Festival**

**Sundance Moves to Colorado**   
The 2027 Sundance Film Festival will run January 21–31 in Boulder, Colorado, its first edition outside Park City, with screenings at local theaters, high schools, and the University of Colorado Boulder.

 

International

**Studiocanal Takes Majority of Lucky Red**   
Studiocanal has bought a 51% stake in Italian arthouse company Lucky Red for €26.6 million, expanding into Italy, while founder Andrea Occhipinti keeps 49%.

 

Gaming

**Electronic Arts Tops 2026 Gaming**   
Sensor Tower reports that soon-to-be-private Electronic Arts led all publishers with over 200 million PC and console downloads, claiming the top three best-selling AAA games with *Battlefield 6* and two *EA Sports FC* titles.
