For Women’s History Month, we want to highlight just some of the amazing women across the Cast & Crew organization. To kick off our series, we chatted with Amanda Lozano, Manager, Customer Support and Marketing for FilmFreeway. Check out her interview below:

Amanda Lozano
Manager, Customer Support and Marketing for FilmFreeway

How long have you been with Cast & Crew?

I was one of the first employees of FilmFreeway at its inception in 2014, and I’ve been part of the Cast & Crew organization since the Backstage acquisition.

What was your very first job?

My first job was working with a local recording studio in Las Vegas, NV. It was my first job out of high school, where I learned skills in music production that I carried with me to college in Burbank, CA, where I studied film editing. My aim was to become a music supervisor, but I always had an interest in the production and composition side of music and its beautiful impact in film.

In your life, what is something that has brought satisfaction and fulfillment? Is there anything you would have done differently?

I am very much involved in the Las Vegas arts and culture community. My contribution to that community is one of the most satisfying and rewarding experiences of my life thus far. On a personal level, I have the greatest partner who encourages me to be the best version of myself every single day.

One thing that I would change about my past is my attending a four-year university as opposed to a vocational school. I feel more doors would have opened for me sooner, although the hustle mentality that I established in my early adulthood certainly helped me grow into the woman I am today.

Who is the most influential woman you know? How does she inspire you?

The most influential women in my life are my mother and grandmother. They are my best friends and have blessed me with love and support during the good times and bad. They are two of the strongest and most resilient women I know, who have overcome their own personal challenges and always managed to put their love for me first—no matter what. If I have become half the woman they both are, then I know I did something right!

If you could give your younger self a bit of advice, what would you say?

Don’t sleep on your ideas and be less harsh on yourself when things don’t work out according to plan.

What is your favorite book, TV show, or movie, to read / watch for Women’s History Month?

The Punk Singer, for a look at the life of activist, musician, and cultural icon Kathleen Hanna, who formed the punk band Bikini Kill and pioneered the "riot grrrl" movement of the 1990s. Girl power!
