Amit Jagwani
VP of Sales at Cast & Crew

A career in entertainment can take unexpected paths. Sometimes the experience that prepares you most for your next role comes from being on the other side of the table.
Amit Jagwani’s journey through the industry has given him a unique perspective on the challenges Cast & Crew’s clients face because he’s experienced many of them firsthand.
After earning his MBA, Amit began his professional career as an auditor before finding his way into film and television. Those first steps into entertainment came at Fox, where he moved from Miami to Los Angeles to audit feature films, television shows, and production operations.
It was an experience that gave Amit an inside look at how productions function and the many moving parts required to bring them to life.
“I got to learn a lot about what we sell our clients now,” Amit says. “I was auditing the things they have to go through later from a payroll perspective, so I understood what they were dealing with.”
Wanting to become more directly involved, Amit transitioned into production accounting, working on scripted projects including NBC Universal’s Undercovers and other television projects. He later expanded his experience into unscripted television, working on productions including The Biggest Loser and MasterChef, where he continued building his understanding of the entertainment business from the ground up.
Eventually, that combination of production knowledge and business experience led Amit into sales. He joined a payroll technology company serving the entertainment industry, where he built relationships with clients and helped lead payroll solutions across film and television, commercials, and independent productions.
Over the years, Amit developed a reputation for understanding both the operational realities behind productions and the business challenges clients needed to solve. That perspective became one of the things that drew him to Cast & Crew.
After reconnecting with longtime colleagues including Jodi Steagall and Jesse Perez, Amit saw an opportunity to join a company where he could combine his experience with a team focused on building what comes next.
“I came here for Jodi and Jesse,” Amit says. “The people are what make a company what it is.”
Since joining Cast & Crew, Amit’s role has already expanded beyond traditional sales. While building relationships and supporting clients remain at the core of his work, he sees an opportunity to help shape strategy, identify opportunities, and connect the company’s capabilities with the evolving needs of the industry.
“It’s becoming more than a sales role,” he says. “It’s sales, operations, product development, identifying where we are today and what we need to do to get to where we want to be.”
That broader perspective has been reinforced by the culture Amit has experienced at Cast & Crew. What has stood out most is the willingness to listen, ask questions, and think differently about the future.
“People are listening,” he says. “It’s not just, ‘This is how we do it.’ It’s, ‘What does it need to be?’”
Shortly after joining the company, Amit was asked to represent Cast & Crew in a major client presentation. While the timing was early in his tenure, he saw the opportunity as a reflection of the trust his new colleagues placed in him.
“It was a really cool experience,” Amit says. “To have people believe in you and trust you to see what you can do was pretty awesome.”
Looking back on his career, Amit believes the most meaningful part of his journey has always been the people he has worked alongside. Across production, finance, and sales, he's seen that relationships, collaboration, and trust are what allow companies to grow.
“I came from a place where I loved working with the people I worked with,” he says. “And now at Cast & Crew, everybody's been awesome. And that is actually why I came here.”
Now, Amit brings a rare combination of production experience, financial understanding, and sales leadership to Cast & Crew. As the entertainment industry continues to evolve, he sees an opportunity to help clients navigate change while helping the company build for the future.
Putting it plainly, he says, “I’d like to do some cool stuff with cool people.”
And for Amit, that’s what this next chapter is about.
Bringing the right experience, the right ideas, and the right people together to create something meaningful.
