SAG-AFTRA and the Joint Policy Committee on Broadcast Talent Union Relations reached an agreement last Thursday to waive the current contract covering productions with a budget of $50,000 or under. The new agreement allows union actors to work on new media low-budget commercial productions. Rates under the new waiver are negotiable. The agreement contains a clause that sets the term limit to March 2019 which allows for mutual adjustment if needed.
