EEO-1 Reporting: Upcoming Filing Window and Proposed Changes
Private employers in the US with 100 or more employees are generally required to submit certain workforce demographic data to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) through the EEO-1 Component 1 report.
For 2025, the EEOC has proposed opening the online filing system as early as May 20, with the filing period running through June 24. Employers should prepare in advance to ensure timely and accurate submissions during this five-week window.
The EEOC has also proposed a change to the form: eliminating the voluntary option to report non-binary employees. If adopted, this could affect how some employers categorize and report gender data.
We’re closely monitoring developments and will share updates as more information becomes available. In the meantime, please reach out to compliance@castandcrew.com if you have any questions.
