The popular social media app TikTok has proven to be a valuable tool for driving moviegoers to theaters, with users 44% more likely than non-users to attend movies regularly. Of those surveyed, 33% of movie attendees say TikTok led them to see a movie, and 47% discovered new films while using the app.

The TV Industry is Heading to London: New Market Event Expected to Have High Attendance
The new content market and networking event MIP London has confirmed that it will host over 80 companies from 30 countries during its inaugural edition from Feb. 23-27, 2025, which coincides with the annual London TV Screenings. Notable participants include major distributors like Beta Film, FilmRise, and PBS Distribution and buyers from Netflix, Disney, and National Geographic.

Investing in Diversity: New BBC Requirements for TV Shows
The BBC will now require all TV shows to meet a 25% off-screen diversity target, increasing representation in areas such as ethnicity, disability, and socioeconomic background. This new mandate follows the success of its initial diversity commitments, where 82% of BBC shows reached the previous 20% diversity target and £243M have been invested in diverse content since 2021.

The €200 Million Mark: French TV Sector Reporting Strong Sales From 2023
Even with challenging market conditions, the French TV international programming sales in 2023 remained strong, reaching €203.4 million, a 5.3% drop from the previous year. This is the third time in the past 30 years that sales have passed the €200 million mark. Scripted dramas and documentaries performed well, and Western Europe remained the largest market for French content.
