As Hispanic Heritage Month continues, we want to look a little deeper at the compelling works celebrate the significance of the Hispanic community. Queen of the South (2016)

Breakdown: Queen of the South is an adaptation of the Spanish novel La Reina del Sur, following Teresa Mendoza, a poor Mexican who amasses a great deal of power by building a drug empire. After fleeing from danger in Mexico, she enters the criminal world in the United States. Applying her unique approach to the drug trade, Teresa establishes her own successful organization, which puts her in the government’s crosshairs.
