On Aug. 29, 2018, Delaware Governor John Carney signed into law State Bill 360, which offers broader protections against sexual harassment in the workplace for Delaware workers. The law identifies sexual harassment as an unlawful employment practice and expands the types of workers covered by the Delaware Discrimination in Employment Act (DDEA) to include state employees, unpaid interns, job applicants, joint employees and apprentices.
The law requires that employers provide interactive training and educate employees on their rights to be free from sexual harassment in the workplace. The law goes into effect Jan. 1, 2019.
