Missouri voters recently defeated Proposition A, a right-to-work law that was passed by the state’s legislature last year. If it had gone into effect, Proposition A would have barred private-sector unions from collecting mandatory fees from non-union members.
In response to the bill’s passage, union leaders and workers in the state protested, gathering enough signatures in opposition, ultimately allowing a repeal of the law to be included on the ballot. Last Tuesday, Missouri voters voted in favor of repealing the bill, representing a major win for organized labor.
